Reis ul-Ulema Kavazovic congratulated the New Hijri Year

According to the Taqweem of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community in BiH, the new 1439th Hijri year starts on Wednesday, September 20th, with the Maghrib-prayer. The first day of the new Hijri year is on Thursday, September 21st, which is Muharram 1st of the 1439th Hijri year. On this occasion, the Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazovic sent congratulations message to all Muslims:

“Muslims in BiH and the world are welcoming another Hijri year. It is traditionally a day of the year when Muslims take a look at their deeds in the past year and put new challenges ahead of them.

Muslims around the world faced many difficulties in the past Hijri year. The Muslim world is being destroyed by divisions and sectarian conflicts. However, the calls to restore the values that, among others, Hijra symbolizes, are louder and louder. The first thing that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) did after moving from Mecca to Medina was establishing brotherhood between refugee Muslims (from Mecca) and those who accepted them (from Medina). This Muslim brotherhood, which overcomes all other divisions, is necessary for Muslims now.

We live in peace in our homeland, thank God, but with constant challenges that must not cause a despair, but the determination to put up with everything. I honestly believe that with God’s help, the worst time for our people and our homeland are behind us.

While Muslims from all around the world are recalling the hijrah of our Prophet p.b.u.h. and the first Muslims who had to leave their homes because of their faith, his followers in the far Myanmar are going through the same thing now. A young, powerless Muslim community in Medina hosted and managed to share all worries and pain with their refugee brothers back then. We are hoping that in the days of hijrah, Muslims of the world who have the power and live in peace, including Bosniaks, will find the strength to be ensaries (Muslims from Medina) to share worries of persecution and war at least with one child or one family.

Finally, I would like to wish to all Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sandzak, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and the Bosniak Diaspora, to all the imams and employees of the Islamic Community, a happy new 1439 Hijri year, with a wish for it to be happy and with a prayer to Allah s.w.t. to give the Muslims the courage and unite their hearts in good, to keep our community strong in the progress, to keep our homeland in prosperity and peace, and to show the path of happiness and success to all men, concluded Reis-ul-Ulema Kavazovic.
