Rescuers are still Searching for the missing after the Floods

The search for missing persons in floods and landslides continued today in the area of ​​Buturović Polje and other places in the Neretvica river basin, the Operational Center of Civil Protection of HNŽ announced this morning.

All heavy machinery is currently focused on cleaning local roads. They are breaking through the silt on the roads, and at the same time repairs are being made to the water, electricity and telephone networks.

Medicines, food, clothing, hygiene and all other necessary necessities are regularly distributed to the vulnerable population.

Following the order of the Federal Headquarters of Civil Protection, the order of the County Headquarters of Civil Protection of HNŽ and in accordance with the order of the City Headquarters of Civil Protection of the City of Konjic, 330 people were evacuated from the area of ​​the city of Konjic affected by the natural disaster until 03:43.

A total of 411 people have been evacuated so far.

Even today, from the early hours of the morning, specialist rescue teams continued the search for victims in the area of ​​Jablanica. Breakthrough of silt on the roads continued, as well as repairs to the water, electricity and telephone networks. Food and medicines are delivered to the residents of the municipality.

During the night, the endangered population was evacuated to a sports hall (9 people), a private facility in Grabovac (24 people), an old people’s home (two persons in wheelchair), while the rest of the population was placed with relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Road communications in the area of ​​the municipality of Jablanica with some inhabited places are interrupted, as well as with neighboring municipalities, work is being done to clean the roads.

Electricity supply to certain areas of the municipality is still interrupted. Work is being done to eliminate problems with planting water. Mobile and landline telephony is down in some places.

The services responsible for road traffic are still working in the area of ​​Drežnica, where the roads have been cleared except for the part of the road towards Diva Grabovica. Electricity supply and telephone connections are in order. The water is still not for consumption.
