Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Istanbul Siniša Mihailović told Srna news agency that they are still looking for BiH citizen A.P. in the Turkish city of Malatya under the ruins of the building where he was staying, and that there is no new information for now.

“We all hope that everything will be fine. We are waiting for official data from the institutions, from which we received this information,” Mihailović said.

He emphasized that the situation in Turkey is very difficult and that the number of victims is expected to increase.

Mihailović added that a large number of rescuers had been dispatched to the field, and that everything was closed until Monday, February 13th, including kindergartens, schools, children’s clubs in ten provinces in Turkey.

“All hotels, hostels, sports halls, everything will be used to receive people. Logistical support has been sent from all parts of Turkey, even from the whole world,” Mihailović said.

He added that food centers were also formed.

“The situation is difficult, people are afraid, there are a lot of subsequent earthquakes, more than 145, and strong ones,” said Mihailović, adding that everyone hopes that the shaking of the ground will calm down.

Central Turkey was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale this morning.
