This morning, Montenegrin rescuers will arrive to help Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), in order to help recover from the consequences of catastrophic floods.

It is a trained team for search and rescue from the ruins – Light USAR, which consists of firefighters – rescuers from several Montenegrin municipalities, as well as members of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue.

It is the team that helped Turkey remediate the consequences of the devastating earthquake last year.

Montenegrin firefighters will assist in the search of the ruins, with the aim of finding persons who are still missing.

Yesterday, the Red Cross of Montenegro launched an action to collect financial aid for the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), which was affected by floods and landslides in the previous days.

For this purpose, the Red Cross opened a special giro account, as well as a special SMS number through which Montenegrin residents can donate money. The collected money, as announced, will be paid into the account of the Red Cross/Cross of BiH.

Residents were asked not to donate other types of aid other than money, such as clothing, food or hygiene products, until there isa need for it.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic earlier expressed his condolences to the families of victims of floods in BiH and offered all assistance on behalf of the country.

“On behalf of the government and citizens of Montenegro, I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Montenegro is with you wholeheartedly and is ready to help in every possible way. We hope you find comfort and strength in this difficult moment,” Spajic wrote on the X network.
