Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr suffered a defeat in the last round against Al-Fateh and the team finished third in the Saudi Pro League. This means that they will not play in the Asian Champions League next season.

But what followed was much more important. Ronaldo’s announcement on social networks may have hinted at his departure from Saudi football.

“This chapter is over. The story? It’s still being written. Grateful to everyone,” the legendary soccer player said on social networks, stirring up the public.

What this announcement by Ronaldo represents and whether this is how he announced his departure from Saudi Arabia, will still be known. It is important to emphasize that his contract with Al-Nassr expires this summer and he has not yet renewed it.

What is known is that he failed to win the Champions League with his Al-Nassr due to the rules.

Namely, third place nominally brings a place in the Champions League, but instead of them, Al Ahly “entered” the elite competition, who are there as the defending champions.

A small consolation for Ronaldo will be that he scored another goal for his Al-Nassr and won the title of the league’s top scorer with 25 goals in the end ahead of Ivan Toney (23).

This announcement by the famous Portuguese resonated around the world, and whether it referred to a possible departure from Saudi Arabia or solely to the end of the season will be known in the coming days.

Although he has turned 40, he is definitely wanted around the world and it would not be a problem for him to find a new club.
