The roundtable will be held at the premises of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber beginning at 11:00.
The goal of this roundtable is for potential exporters of honey in BIH to become informed on the responsibilities of the relevant institutions, and of procedures and documentation that is necessary for the export of honey in the context of the fact that the EU officially approved the program for monitoring residue for honey for BIH at the end of March.
“The BiH Veterinary Office, USAID/Sida FARMA and the Czech Development Agency will continue to strengthen the capacity of the veterinary laboratory in order to ensure that the testing of residue could be carried out in BiH. There will be a parallel intensification of efforts to train veterinary inspectors so that official controls are carried out in accordance with EU standards. In addition to wok with institutions, today we wish to introduce to potential exporters the required procedures and documentation required for the export of honey to the EU market’’, announced the Director of the BiH Veterinary Office Ljubomir Kalaba.
Producers have to implement the necessary standards for food safety (in accordance with “hygiene package”), and to register as exporters, which is also subject to approval by the EU.
