RS National Assembly Vice-President: Extend Census Deadline in the RS

ramizsalkicVice-President of the RS National Assembly Ramiz Salkić calls on all those responsible for implementing the census in B&H to adopt a decision to extend the final deadline for the census in those census circles in which there was a suspension in the census taking in the last few days.

‘I think that all the prerequisites for the extension of the census in municipalities and census circles are there, since there was a lack of census materials for the last few days. It is evident that, according to information from the field, that the problems with the lack of census materials are particularly in the RS, and in municipalities with a large returnee population, such as: Srebrenica, Zvornik, Bijeljina-Janja, Prijedor, Doboj, Banja Luka, Bosanski Novi and other communities. All estimates show that the census in these areas will not be able to be carried out in accordance with the regulations by the deadline on 15 October’’, said Salkić.

Since the problems of lack of census materials in these areas are due to poor assessment of the relevant statistical institutions, which did not submit on time enough census materials to local census commissions, Salkić called on the directors of the B&H Statistics Agency and the RS Statistics Agency to extend the deadline for the census in the areas that had problems.
