RS PM: Suspension of Credit Arrangements, Continuation of Political Pressure

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, said that the German administration’s decision to suspend credit arrangements in projects in the RS represents “a continuation of political pressure on Republika Srpska with the aim of giving up the fight for our rights through economic coercion”.

Višković reminded that a few years ago, credit arrangements were agreed with the German bank KFV in connection with the construction of the wind farm “Hrgud” near Berković and the renovation of the units at the HPP “Trebišnjica”, as well as the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Gradiška.

“All these projects are in different, mostly preparatory stages of implementation, and for the most part, they were supposed to be realized with credit funds from the German KFV bank. We regret that the German government has decided to take this step, especially since every step we take is actually a struggle for consistent respect and implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement,” Višković said.

He said that regardless of this decision, the RS will try to find another financing model within a reasonable time, in order to realize all these projects that are of great importance for the citizens and the RS as a whole, the Public Relations Bureau of the Entity Government announced.

The German government has decided to suspend four infrastructure projects in Republika Srpska with a total value of 105 million euros.

In yesterday’s announcement from the Embassy of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is stated that we are talking about the rehabilitation projects of Hydroelectric Power Plant “Trebinje”, phases three and four, Wind Park “Hrgud” and disposal of waste water in Gradiška.
