Director-General for Enlargement at the European Commission Stefano Sannino emphasized the importance of reaching an agreement on establishing a coordination mechanism of B&H which will in the future work with the EU, saying that this is especially significant  concerning the new budget cycle. After the meeting with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H Vjekoslav Bevanda, Sannino said to the press that fulfilling this obligation from the Road MAP is very important, because the future principle of deployment of resources of the EU will be based on the principles of better achievements and results of the countries.

He gave his full support to Chairman Bevanda in his further efforts to fulfill the obligations from the Road MAP but also to all other activities that are on the path of B&H’s Euro-Atlantic integrations.

” We appreciate the efforts of Bevanda concerning the path of B&H towards the EU, and we will continue to support him from our side.”- said Sannino.

During a conversation about the meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of B&H and Croatia in Brussels, Sannino said that they achieved to explain one important thing, and that is that the Croatian border will soon become the outer border of the EU, and in that manner Croatia must apply all rules and standards of the EU.

In connection to this matter, Sannino emphasized that it is very important to speed up the remaining work in order to secure an unrestricted trade exchange between B&H and Croatia.

”When the population census is concerned, there is no need to politicize questions  of technical nature.”- said Sannino.

Upon addressing the matter of the implementation of the ”Sejdić-Finci” verdict, Sannino said that he hopes that a solution will be found soon.
“One agreement, one solution is needed to open possibilities for a credible application, which would then again provide an opportunity for a positive evaluation of the member countries of the EU in June. This all would present a significant regional improvement.”- said Sannino.

Chairman Bevanda highlighted that the coordination mechanism is one of the crucial obligations from the Road MAP.

“An efficient coordination mechanism is one of the first priorities from the Road Map which was accepted by the political leaders last June in Brussels.”- said Bevanda to the press after the meeting.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H introduced his guest with everything that is connected with the population census as well as with the change of law on the extension of the deadline.

”We are warned again in order to finish all these obligations by the end of March, so we would be able to verify everything that we failed to do previously. Then they could grant us the period from April till June, especially June, to be a period when all countries in the region will be granted something, and the Agreement on stabilization and accession for B&H could be enforced and open possibilities for the submission of a credible application.”- said Bevanda
