keseThe government of FB&H at today’s session adopted the decision on fees for plastic bags, whose thickness is not over 20 microns and they can pollute the environment once disposed.

Thin plastic bags, in which fruits, vegetables and other products are packed are not subject to this regulation, unless they are distributed to the buyers as bags for purchased goods.

Salespeople will pay fees to the Fund for environmental protection of FB&H for distribution of plastic bags. Salespeople will pay fees twice a year on the basis of the amount of plastic bags distributed. They will have to submit to the Fund a report and evidence of the fee payment on the account of the Fund.

The fee for distribution of plastic bags covered by the report is 0.05 BAM, meaning 50 BAM for a pack, which contains 1.000 pieces. The fee for distribution of plastic bags which are not covered the by report is 0.08 BAM per piece, or 80 BAM for a pack of 1.000 pieces.

The fine is 1.000-10.000 BAM for all those who do not pay fees or who do not submit the report on the amount of plastic bags distributed, or fails to submit evidence of payment of the prescribed fee. A 500-2.000 BAM fine is foreseen for the responsible person, announced the Office of Public Relations of the FB&H government.
