Salkic: The Exercise of the RS Ministry of the Internal provoked and intimidated Returnees

The Vice President of the Republika Srpska (RS), Ramiz Salkic, spoke on the occasion of yesterday’s exercise of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS and the gendarmerie, assessing that this exercise aims to further provoke and intimidate Bosniaks and Croats in RS.

Salkic called on the international community to react and, as he pointed out, to curb the behavior of the authorities in RS.

“This police exercise aims to further provoke and intimidate Bosniaks and Croats in this entity. There was no other rational reason to hold such an exercise at this time, except to intimidate and provoke returnees to this entity,” Salkic explained in a statement issued by his cabinet.

Also, he added that it should not be forgotten that the verdict of the International Court of Justice in The Hague marked parts of the RS police as perpetrators of genocide against Bosniaks, residents of the “safe zone” of the United Nations (UN) inSrebrenica in 1995.

“We are experiencing the peak of pressure on Bosniaks and Croats in this entity, which has been intensively manifested through systemic discrimination in the last ten years. It depends on the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the international community, and domestic institutions that are in charge of protecting the constitutional order of BiH, how all this will end,” Salkic stated.

He noted that the international community, the OHR, and domestic institutions “do not have much time to react and curb the behavior of the separatist-oriented government in this entity before they take the next steps.”

“That is why I call on you to react immediately and sanction those who are working to destroy the country’s constitutional order, and threaten to endanger peace and stability,” said Salkic.
