raftingYesterday at the complex of Pannonian lakes in Tuzla was officially opened the 9th International meeting of rafters and raft clubs called “RAFTLOOK 2016” in the organization of Raft Eco-club “Accent”. The popular “salty rafting” is a traditional event at which participate rafters from BiH and countries of the region.

Within this event was organized promotional ride for children and youth, and with the instructions of experienced rafter-skippers, rowers had the opportunity to feel the excitement of rafting for a moment.

“The goal of these meetings, besides gathering, is popularization of rafting as a sport, as well as summarizing of results because we are at the end of the rafting season. We have ten teams at this year’s event, with more than 100 participants. This year, the team from Serbia is absent, but guests from Croatia and Slovenia are here,” said the President of raft eco-club “Accent” Esed Ferhatbegovic.

Mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamovic officially opened the International meeting of rafters and raft clubs.

“It is important for the promotion of the city to have as many domestic, regional, and international events through which we can promote our city.  We have to be constantly in campaign and therefore it is important to have as many events and opportunities for better promotion of the salt lakes, in order to have as many guests as possible,” said Imamovic.

Among the participants this year is team of rafters from Jajce as well.

“We are happy to come at the invitation every time. It is very important that the idea of rafting is expanding. This way we support each other. Rafters from Tuzla come to meet with us, we come to them and it is very nice. These gatherings are not just for a show, we aim to gather and give our children the opportunity to experience the magic of water and rowing,” said the rafter from Jajce, Mumin Kenanovic.
