The Sanitary Border Inspection of the Federal Inspection Directorate at the Customs Office (FUZIP CI) ordered a laboratory analysis of the shipment of baby dolls originating in China during a regular import inspection.

According to chemical analysis findings of December 16th, due to the increased content of di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), the test sample did not meet the provisions of the Decision restricting the placing on the market of phthalate-containing toys and products for children

Such goods do not meet the quality and safety parameters for general use prescribed by the Law on Health Safety of Foods and General Use Items. Accordingly, the import of a faulty shipment of 480 baby dolls was banned and its destruction ordered, FUZIP reported.
