Sarajevan among famous Players that will be chosen on the NBA Draft?

A record number of basketball players (236 of them) applied for the upcoming NBA draft, which will take place in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 21.

A total of 55 foreigners applied for this year’s draft, including two players from BiH.

Dzanan Musa, basketball player for Cedevita who recorded an average of 12.5 points, 3.3 jumps and 1.6 assists in the ABA league, as well as 10.5 points and 3.2 jumps in Eurocup, applied for the NBA draft.

The second basketball player from BiH, who is waiting to be selected by an NBA team, is 21-year-old Ajdin Penava. He was born in Sarajevo and attended the Fifth Gymnasium, he is 2.06 meters tall and he is performing as a college student at Marshall University in Huntigton, a town in West Virginia with around 50,000 citizens, of which a large percentage are students.

This season, he achieved the average of 15.6 points per match, 8.9 jumps and 1.9 assists.

Member of Marshalls also performed for the junior national team of BiH, which managed to achieve the 4th place in the European Championship in 2015. Penava finished the competition with 5.6 points and 4.8 jumps per match.

According to the US media, great merits for Penava’s good shape belong to Dan D’Antony, the coach of Marshalls and assistant in the NBA league, the younger brother of the coach of Houston Rockets, Mike D’Antony.
