The international airport in Sarajevo has been doing the best since its establishment. The number of passengers who passed through the airport has never been higher, so already now, two and a half months until the New Year, it can be concluded that records have been broken, according to Klix.ba.

Namely, Sarajevo Airport served 1,500,000 passengers as of yesterday, which is an absolute record. Since the beginning of the year, Sarajevo Airport has recorded an increase in the number of passengers every month compared to previous years.

The previous record was 1.37 million passengers in one year.

The most passengers passed through the airport in July, 269,161. Because of all this, this airport can expect to reach two million passengers by the end of December.

On average, 22 planes land and take off from the Sarajevo airport every day to various destinations in Europe and Asia.

The increase in the number of passengers is directly related to the establishment of new direct lines, from Bergamo, Memmingen, Brussels, Warsaw and so on. Subsidies from the Canton of Sarajevo for airlines that operate new lines also contributed to this, and it is expected that this project will continue.
