Year after year, more and more tourists from all parts of the world visit Sarajevo, and in only a couple days of December the capital might host as much as 100.000 tourists.

The reason for this is the spectacular concert by the regional music star Dino Merlin, who will be with the citizens and tourist on the largest square in Sarajevo, the Square of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during New Year’s Eve.

Numbers of the Sarajevo International Airport also support the statement that tourism is booming. Hundreds of thousands of passengers pass through this airport every year.

On Monday, December 5, the airport will mark an important jubilee, since the flight of the airline Air Serbia Sarajevo-Belgrade will bring the 800.000th passenger in the year 2016. This will be the new record of the company because this is the first time that this many passengers have passed through this airport during one year.

Already in mid-November the Airport exceeded the number of registered passengers from past year (772.904) and the record has been broken several times this year already.

Twelve airlines currently operate on this airport, connecting Sarajevo with 13 destinations, thus making the capital of BiH connected with Europe and the world better than ever.

As of next year, airlines WizzAir with the flight Sarajevo-Budapest and Qatar Airways with flight Sarajevo-Doha should also be included in regular air traffic from this airport.
