The Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton has announced a public competition for the filling of vacant positions of police officers in the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton in the initial rank of police officers and that is as many as 250 officers.

In order to establish the employment relationship of police officers in the initial rank of “Policeman”, candidates must meet the general and special conditions clearly specified and stated in this public competition.

The competition is open from the sixth of November to the sixth of December 2023, and information on the necessary conditions can be found on the page of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton.

In May of this year, 195 cadets took the oath and thus officially became police officers of the KS MUP. For years, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton has been warning about the chronic lack of police officers, which had consequences for the security situation in the city, KLix.ba reports.

The police in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are being equipped. Armored vehicles are solemnly presented, new acquisitions are announced. Weapons are purchased, millions are allocated. Preparations for uniform uniforms in all cantons are coming to an end. The reason – only the authorities say, the safety of citizens and police officers, reports N1.

Weapons, drones, tactical uniforms, enhanced training. All this is in the plan of the Federal Police Administration. And before that, armored vehicles. One has already been delivered to the Special Unit. They boasted the multi-functional Rochel Senator, a Canadian-made vehicle. For the police, the most important item – it has a high degree of protection.

“It serves for urban and rural areas in the event of terrorist attacks so that we are safe. It has additional protection against explosives, slightly stronger calibers, it has thermal cameras, it has gunshot detection, which means a lot to us in the event of an operational action, in the event of an attack, to know where it came from that attack came, therefore we immediately have to reorganize the group that is sitting there so that they know from where and how they will continue their work,” said Ivan Vidošević, a member of the Special Unit of the FUP.

That’s not all, announces the Federal Minister of the Interior. FUP will receive at least two more such armored vehicles in the coming period. Equipping the police in the Federation will not stop at the umbrella agency. Next comes the modernization of the police administrations of all ten cantons.

“That vehicle can recognize when a sniper or anyone is attacking the location, from which direction he is shooting, to immediately locate him, all other necessary actions to be taken, that vehicle has a certain number of policemen that he can transfer from one location to another, that vehicle is armored , we will acquire an even greater number of those vehicles, we are already certain in the agreements. In addition to those vehicles, we are acquiring certain new equipment,” said Ramo Isak, Minister of the Interior of the FBiH, and added:

“We are expecting transporters, let them be for parades, and we don’t need them,” the Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton, Irfan Halilagić, announced at the beginning of the year.

And they arrived a few days ago. The presentation of the transporter to the public was also attended by the Chairman of the Presidency, Željko Komšić. It is about two armored vehicles, and two are expected. Value over five million marks.

Hajrudin Mehanović, Minister of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton said that a criminal who dares to oppose the law will not be safe at any time of the day.

“When you send police officers, as was the complex task in Gradačac, and send them in ordinary passenger vehicles, then you send clay pigeons to someone’s pipe, now when a similar situation happens or the situation that was the other day in Kosovo, we send police officers with ballistic equipment and with vehicles that guarantee safety from infantry weapons and personal weapons. Therefore, any criminal who dares to oppose the law will not be safe at any time of the day in any place of our Canton,” Mehanović pointed out.

Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton expects to deliver three Senator Rochel transporters, identical to the ones in Tuzla, by the end of the year. They will soon announce a tender for the purchase of two more. And it won’t stop there, says the relevant minister.

“We are planning at least two more in the next year, we are also procuring everything necessary for the police, the uniforms are included, especially since the new Regulation on uniform police uniform was adopted, we are procuring new uniforms for our police, over 20 million BAM is only for capital investments to the Police Directorate and, I believe, it will be realized by the end of this year,” said Admir Katica, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Canton Sarajevo.

For the first time since its formation, the MoI of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton is starting the process of procuring armored vehicles, with funds provided by the Government of the Federation.

“The procedure of acquiring two armored vehicles and a certain amount of automatic rifles is underway, all for the purpose of more operational work of the Police Directorate. These armored vehicles will be used in some more serious forms of criminal offenses, i.e. in the detection and capture of perpetrators of serious crimes such as serious murders , terrorism, hostage situations and in certain complex situations,” said Mirsad Kamenica.

From the beginning of next year, the Regulation of the Government of the Federation on the uniform uniforms of all police officers in the entity will be implemented.

By installing around 150 cameras at different locations in Sarajevo, in the next two years, the Sarajevo police will get to criminals and traffic violators faster. The time of finding, identification and arrest will be shortened.

Four years ago, all entrances and exits in Sarajevo were covered by video surveillance, since then additional surveillance cameras have been installed in Canton Sarajevo. Over one million marks was approved for the purchase of new analytical cameras.

“We are installing analytical cameras and we plan for it to be a significant figure. About 150 analytical cameras, in the places where our experts foresee it. It is certainly one of the main priorities in our work. Also, it is closely connected with the construction project of the new building of the Ministry of Interior of the Canton Sarajevo,” points out Admir Katica, Minister of Internal Affairs of the CS.

The project to build a new building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of CS includes the creation of a modern Operations Center, which should be completed in the next two to three years and will mean a comprehensive approach to the problem of crime in the area of CS, says Katica.
