Sarajevo Court confirmed Indictment against One Person for Inciting Hatred

The Municipal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office against Hamdija Kocić for the criminal offense of inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord or intolerance.

He is accused of singing songs glorifying war criminals and insulting the genocide in Srebrenica in a public place on July 11, 2023, in Nikole Šopa Street. Therefore, he caused ethnic and religious hatred and intolerance, thereby committing the criminal offense of inciting ethnic, racial and religious hatred, discord or intolerance.

In the indictment, the acting prosecutor proposed the hearing of three witnesses, one expert and presentation of around 10 material pieces of evidence for the main trial.
