The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is loaded with bouquets, red roses, hearts, stuffed animals and balloons. Couples are walking together, smiling, holding hands and enjoying the February sunshine.
A great number of men are buying flowers to their loved ones and Valentine’s Day, along with the Women’s Day, represents the day when the most flowers are bought. Every year, girls and women receive nearly 50 million roses on Valentine’s Day worldwide.
In Sarajevo, many couples of different age groups can be seen, which is an indication that love really does not know about the age and that it is the same in twenties and seventies.
