In Skenderija Center today the three-day Sarajevo fair for engineering, Sagra, ends today. The fair was held together with the third “Days of Energy Efficiency in Buildings”.

This traditional, business manifestation was held with the financial support of the Fund for Environmental Protection of FBiH and under the auspice of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry and the Federal Ministry of Physical Planning.

“This year’s “Days of Energy Efficiency in Buildings” was organized for efficient flow of information between the federal level of government, foreign organizations for financial and technical support in the implementation of the project of energy efficiency in buildings, business people from the construction sector and civil engineering, and the certification of companies in the field of energy efficiency in order to influence the improvement of the business climate in the construction sector in BiH’’, said the Project Manager Eldin Husarić for Fena.

In the two days of the conference there were 19 topics in the area of energy efficiency in buildings. The guidelines regarding the legislation of the energy sector has been shown, and through the presentation of foreign organizations it was presented what was done in the last period in the implementation of the pilot-project in the area of energy efficiency.

“The guidelines for a more efficient implementation of the project of energy efficiency was also shown, and the opportunities for being able to more easily find financial funds for the implementation of the project. The first day of the meeting of the federal ministry presented legal frameworks and the opportunities for the realization of financial support in energy efficiency. The presentations were primarily directed towards the local communities in the FBiH and other business subjects, because public purpose buildings, schools and kindergardens, from a space of local communities are objects that are provided for in the first round of funding for energy efficiency from EU funds’’, said Husarić.

The second day of the gathering projects in energy efficiency implemented by local firms were presented, as well as positive business practice examples in the production of low-energy houses, and the realization of future projects in energy efficiency was announced.

The conclusion of the session is that the current situation in the construction sector is not promising, because in the future new investments are not expected for the construction of housing units.

“In connection to this, we have to continue to inform the public of the importance of energy efficiency in buildings. For the beginning, we have to find initial financial funds through the Development Bank and grants for the implementation of projects in energy efficiency and in this way decrease costs in business. Financial assets that were calculated on the basis of cost reduction should be reallocated to the implementation of the next project in energy efficiency that would start the construction sector and building materials industry’’, said Husarić.

There were more than 50 exhibitors at the Sagra fair, mostly from BiH, and others from Serbia and Croatia.
