The organizational team of Bentbaša Cliff Diving 2026 welcomes the start of work on the cleaning and arrangement of the bed of the river Miljacka in the area of Bentbaša, a project that is of great importance for the city and the preservation of the river’s watercourse.
“We would like to express our special thanks to the City of Sarajevo, led by Mayor Samir Avdić, for their understanding and willingness to suspend the works in a timely manner so that the organizing team could continue preparations for the 12th edition of the Bentbaša Cliff Diving 2026 international diving competition, which will be held on August 8 and 9, 2026.
Timely suspension of works is of particular importance for safe and high-quality site preparation. In the coming period, a detailed inspection of the terrain and the riverbed by the diving team is planned, as well as cleaning and arranging the bed of the Miljacka, coastal walls and green areas on the stretch from the dam on Bentbaša to the Šeher-ćehaja bridge,” organizers said.
All the mentioned activities represent an important part of the preparation of the location, especially from the aspect of the safety of the competitors, but also the desire of the organizers that Bentbaša be decorated and presented at its best during the event.
Bentbaša Cliff Diving has been gathering a large number of visitors for twelve years at one of Sarajevo’s most recognizable locations, connecting sport, tourism and the promotion of the city’s natural and cultural heritage.
In the coming days, the organizing team will present the program and all the most important information related to this year’s edition of Bentbaš Cliff Diving 2026.
