This morning, Sarajevo is the city with the most polluted air in the world, with a pollution index of 199, according to the data of the website “Air Visual”.

It is followed by Dhaka in Bangladesh with a pollution index of 184, Mumbai in India with an index of 181 and Shenyang in China with an index of 175.

Skopje is fifth with a pollution index of 173, and Zagreb is in seventh place with a pollution index of 166.

Air with the specified values is classified as unhealthy.

Unhealthy air can increase the symptoms and severity of illness in people with heart and respiratory diseases, such as asthma, while others may begin to feel the negative impact of pollution on their health.

Lung and heart patients, pregnant women, children and the elderly are advised to reduce any physical activities outdoors, and others to avoid prolonged or greater exertion while outside.
