“We have shown that we are capable and able to organize great events that unite and connect everything in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Sarajevo mayor Abdulah Skaka said during the award ceremony of Vecernjakov Pecat in Mostar.

Mayor of Skaka, together with the mayor of East Sarajevo, Nenad Vukovic, received the award in the category of Local Leader. At the official ceremony, the award was presented to Jelka Milicevic, Minister of Finance of the FBiH.

Mayor Skaka sent important messages to Mostar, pointing out that the European Olympic Youth Festival for the EYOF has returned to BiH an Olympic flame and a torch of peace.

“We were proud hosts in 1984, and now we have shown that we know how to organize important events. This is an important political message that cities can cooperate and jointly organize events that promote peace and cooperation, and the values that BiH has. Let the flame of peace in Sarajevo burn forever, and fighting and battlefields just to be seen in sports,” Skaka said.
