“Sarajevo Migration Dialogue” Conference to start on September 19th

The second high-level regional conference on migration “Sarajevo Migration Dialogue” will be held from September 19 to 21 in Sarajevo, it was announced.

The participants will be key persons in the field of migration, asylum and border management from the region and the European Union and will discuss regional cooperation, defining best practices in migration management and strengthening the capacity for coordination of the competent institutions of the Western Balkan countries.

Ministers of the region, representatives of the EU and international organizations will discuss the return and readmission of migrants to their countries of origin with the aim of defining the best modality for solving these challenges.

An important segment in the fight against illegal migration is the joint fight against smuggling and human trafficking, which will also be discussed.

The conference is organized by the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the support of the Government of Switzerland and Hilfswerk International.
