As part of the 70th anniversary of successful cultural and museum work, Sarajevo Museum will be presented to the international public as well, and on this occasion, the exhibition “Sarajevo Through History” was opened in Varnamo, Sweden.

It was stated that Swedish cultural community will be introduced to the Museum of Sarajevo itself, about the history of country’s capital and the exhibits it collects, preserves, protects and presents the Museum.

In the Gummifabriken gallery, the Museum exhibited a peculiar illustrated representation of Sarajevo’s history on 40 original exhibits, five hologram-depicted precious objects from the museum’s permanent setting, several video presentations in modern way, and other valuable archeological, ethnological and historiographic artifacts.

The organizer of the exhibition is the Varnamo Commune, which with the support of the BiH diaspora, invited the Museum to realize the complex and expensive project in the common synergy.

Director Mirsad Avdic held a lecture on the Sarajevo paradigm theme, putting emphasis on historical points that defined his specificity and created what is colloquial stated as “Sarajevo spirit”, and which has its basis in the exact events that directly reflected the life of the city and the mentality of its residents.
