Photo exhibition “Sarajevo siege” of Paul Lowe and the film screening “Miss Sarajevo” of Bill Carter will open today at the new and reconstructed Gallery 11/07/95.
Photos of the series “Sarajevo siege” of photographer Paul Lowe, as well as the film “Miss Sarajevo” of Bill Carter, witness the terrible everyday life of Sarajevo citizens during the war but also the spirit of resistance.
The siege of Sarajevo -the longest siege of a capital city in the modern history started in April 1992 and ended in February 1996.
More than 10.000 killed, more than 60.000 wounded and more than 1.500 murdered children are some of the consequences of the siege.
“Sarajevo siege” is one of the first temporary exhibition of the Gallery 11/07/95, which the public can visit along with the permanent gallery exhibition “Srebrenica”.
The reconstruction of premises of the gallery 11/07/95 is supported and financed by TIKA- Turkish Agency for International Cooperation.
This is a continuation of good cooperation between gallery 11/07/95 and TIKA, which has helped the initial opening of Gallery two years ago.
The first temporary setting on second anniversary, the Gallery 11/07/95 continues to work on creating productive cultural and social memories, but also announces orientation toward similar programs in the future, announced the Gallery 07/11/95.
