The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office took over the case after collecting evidence and the statement of the injured party, and the Cantonal Government held an urgent session.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement regarding the arrest of two police officers from the Cantonal Ministry of Internal Affairs. After an investigation, one of the police officers was released, while the other, Amar Turčalo, was handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office.

As reported, after the statement of the injured minor given to the acting prosecutor, and the interrogation at the Cantonal Ministry of Internal Affairs and the collected evidence, it was determined that there is no basis for suspicion that one of the police officers participated in any incriminating actions, for which he was dismissed from service.

On the other hand, police officer Amar Turčalo is suspected of having had sexual intercourse with a minor in October of this year, which, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, could make him liable for the criminal offense of sexual abuse of a minor.

Due to the gravity of the case, an emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Government was held today, and it was announced that Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević and Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Meliha Dugalija will address the public tomorrow to provide more information about the course of the investigation, Klix.ba writes.
