Sarajevo Ranked Among World’s Best Food Cities

The popular food guide Taste Atlas published a list two days ago naming the 100 cities with the best food, and the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is also on it.

With this, Taste Atlas wanted to recommend which cities you should visit by the end of the year if you want to enjoy food. Thus, Naples is in first place, and the next three places are also taken by Italian cities: Milan, Bologna, and Florence, while Mumbai (India) is in fifth place.

Sarajevo ranked 46th with a score of 4.48 and is ahead of other cities in the region. When it comes to Croatia, Zagreb made the list (in 59th place with a score of 4.44) and Split (in 72nd place with a score of 4.41). Also on the list is Belgrade, which ranked 68th with a score of 4.41.

A little later, Taste Atlas also published a list of the 100 best cuisines in the world, and BiH ranked 68th.

Namely, this food guide often includes BiH specialties on its lists. Recently, they published a list of the best minced meat dishes, and Travnik cevapi took a high sixth place with a score of 4.5, while Sarajevo cevapi (22nd place) and Banja Luka cevapi (37th place) were also included.

It should be recalled that the price of cevapi in the capital of BiH recently became a topic on social media, as in many restaurants, a small portion of five cevapi costs 7 BAM, while a portion of 10 cevapi costs 14 BAM.

Also, kajmak and yogurt, which are a common addition to this dish, are charged separately. Restaurateurs at the time said that the main reason for the price increase is the rise in the cost of raw materials, primarily meat.
