Sarajevo records New Cases of Coronavirus

According to the Canton Sarajevo Public Health Institute, 166 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton last day, after 987 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 111 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Two patients, unfortunately, died as a result of this disease.

There are currently 130 patients in hospital, 120 of whom have an acute infection, while the rest are post covid or under observation / triage.

The share of vaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 17.69 percent. 69 patients are treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas ”61.
There are five people on the respirator, and 15 patients use non-invasive ventilation. There are 12 patients on oxygen support for breathing. Today, Sarajevo Canton records 1,632 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 2,513 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 66,292 people have been infected with the coronavirus, while 63,113 have been cured.

In the past seven days, the average number of infected is 137, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 227, according to the Public Health Institute of CS.

During the past day, a total of 1,070 doses of vaccines were administered in health centers in CS.

The Ministry of Health of CS once again calls on the citizens to get vaccinated, in order to preserve their own and the health of the people in their environment. This ministry and health institutions thank the citizens for their cooperation, and call on them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic and epidemiological measures.
