These days, Sarajevo is the center of European taekwondo and hosts three major international competitions, which one after the other gather the best competitors from all over Europe and the world. In the “Goran Čengić” hall, a series of top sports events will begin today, confirming the status of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a significant destination on the European and world taekwondo scene.

The program opens with the European Club Championship for children, in which 144 competitors participate. The youngest athletes from numerous European countries have the opportunity to show their knowledge, sportsmanship and skills acquired through years of dedicated work.

This is followed by the European Club Championship, which takes place from June 18 to 20 and is one of the biggest taekwondo events in Europe. The competition brought together an impressive 2,257 entries and 1,737 competitors, who will compete in different age and competition categories over the course of three days, bringing top sports performances and the atmosphere of an international sports spectacle to Sarajevo.

The sports program ends with the international tournament Bosnia and Herzegovina Open 2026 – G1/E1, which takes place on June 21 and 22 and gathers 1,026 entries and 775 competitors. The competition starts on June 21 with the European ranking tournament E1 for cadets and juniors, while June 22 is reserved for the G1 tournament for seniors, which carries significant points for the world ranking and gathers top competitors from numerous countries.
