As part of an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Abdulaziz Alsakran, Deputy Governor for International Relations of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, visited the Communications Regulatory Agency of BiH. The delegation was received by the Agency’s Director General, Drasko Milinovic.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Government of Saudi Arabia, including the ambassador and his deputy, as well as representatives of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Investment.

During the meeting, experiences and knowledge in the field of telecommunications were exchanged, with particular emphasis placed on readiness for cooperation in the development of a regulatory framework for the efficient implementation of the 5G network in BiH, in line with international best practices.

Raya Alaskar, Head of International Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressed full support for strengthening and improving all segments of the telecommunications sector in BiH. She emphasized the importance of expanding broadband internet access and implementing the 5G network as soon as possible.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is ranked as the second most advanced country in the world in telecommunications development, according to data from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Additionally, Saudi Arabia will host the “Global Symposium for Regulators 2025,“ which will be held at the end of August, focusing on the improvement of international cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies and the implementation of 5G networks.
