Schmidt with NATO Representatives: Maintain a coordinated Engagement in BiH

High Representative Christian Schmidt met yesterday with Thomas Goffus, Assistant Secretary-General for Operations at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, and his associates.

Schmidt emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is at a turning point because the candidate status for the European Union (EU) offers an incentive and an opportunity for reforms.

“Therefore, it is important to maintain a coordinated engagement of the international community on the ground, including the smooth implementation of the EUFOR-Althea mission, in order to preserve stability and security, and to contribute to the creation of a favorable environment for progress,” Schmidt said.

It should be recalled that at the NATO summit in Lithuania, it was announced that NATO will continue to help the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) as it has been doing so far.
