The President of the Party for Democratic Action (SDA) Sulejman Tihić spoke with Nigel Casey, the Ambassador of Great Britain to BiH.

The topic of the meeting was the current situation in BiH, the European path in the context of the implementation of “Sejdić-Finci”, NATO membership and the situation in the FBiH.

Tihić confirmed the absolute commitment of SDA towards membership to NATO and the EU, as well as consistent implementation of the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights in the ruling.

“SDA is now the opposition party at the national level, but SDA will never be an opposition to the state of BiH. We will always support the processes that are in the interest of BiH and its citizens, and we will always oppose everything that is to the detriment of BiH”, said the leader of SDA during the meeting.

They agreed that it is necessary and important for SDA to participate in the process of implementing the ruling in the European Court of Human Rights.

“SDA will participate in the talks, but it will insist to work on the implementation of “Sejdić-Finci” that should eliminate discrimination of other peoples and citizens of our country, and not to solve the issue of only one constituent peoples in one part of the FBiH. The modalities offered so far to resolving this issue did not serve the interests and equality of others. A political agreement that produces new discrimination should not occur’’, said the SDA President.

He explained that SDA will support the implementation of the agreement on solving the issue of military property that would comply with the requirements NATO’s MAP program. Regarding military property, a political agreement has to be supplemented by the provisions of the BiH Constitutional Court.

In previous days Tihić spoke with the Head of the EU Delegation Commission and the Special Representative of the EU to BiH, Ambassador Peter Sorensen and with Patrick Moon, the US Ambassador to BiH.
