Branko Blanusa, professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Banja Luka, is the candidate of the SDS for president of Republika Srpska (RS) in the early elections.
Acting president of SDS Jovica Radulovic stated that at yesterday’s session of this party it was unanimously decided that this party will run in the early elections for president of RS, and that the candidate will be a longtime member of the party, Branko Blanusa.
“The election of our candidate represents a departure from the politics of the SNSD and Milorad Dodik, and that is what the citizens expect. From all opposition parties in the RS, we expect them to stand by our candidate, to support him, that is, to be united,” said Radulovic.
He expects that meetings will soon be held with representatives of the parties PDP, NF, the List for Justice and Order, and the Independent Movement “In My Own Way” by Igor Radojicic.
Branko Blanusa, SDS candidate for president of RS, stated that it is an honor for him that SDS nominated him as a candidate for president of RS.
“I expect support from all opposition parties, that is, that the entire opposition bloc will have one name,” said Blanusa.
He reminded that the public in RS lately had the opportunity to often hear stories about traitors and patriots.
“For me, patriots are people who live here, and I share the fate of our citizens,” said Blanusa.
He said that young people in RS first need to be given better education, to restore optimism and the belief that life in the country is possible, and that they should stay.
“To householders, farmers, security needs to be restored, so that they do not worry about what tomorrow will look like. And to the third generation, that is the 55-plus generation – fighters and pensioners, dignity needs to be restored to them,” stated Blanusa.
Branko Blanusa was born in 1969 in Banja Luka, where he lives and works. He is a full professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Banja Luka, where he was dean from 2017 to 2021.
He is the author of numerous scientific papers, and he has lectured at many universities abroad. He speaks and writes English.
The early elections for the president of the RS will be held on November 23rd.
