The search for a three-year-old child who disappeared in the Sava river in Zagreb continues, and the woman who entered the water with the girl is in custody.

Today, rescuers will again search the Sava riverbed from the Jankomir bridge downstream, all the way to Sisak, Croatian media reports.

Members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, Civil Protection, Red Cross and firefighters searched the river several times from morning to night yesterday, but without results.

Yesterday, the police arrested a thirty-four-year-old woman who entered the Sava river in Zagreb with a child in her arms on Wednesday, January 15.

The police officers of the Zagreb Police Department have completed the criminal investigation of this woman due to the suspicion that she committed the criminal offense of grave murder of a close person.

She is in custody and a criminal complaint has been filed against her to the County State Prosecutor’s Office in Zagreb, the Zagreb Police Department stated.
