Serbia is the Third-largest Investor in BiH

The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) Gordan Milinic met on Saturday with the newly appointed ambassador of BiH to Serbia Aida Smajic.

During the meeting, they spoke about the current economic situation between the two countries with a focus on Serbia’s investments in BiH.

According to the data of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by the end of 2017, the Republic of Serbia has invested 2,024 billion BAM in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is the third-largest investor in BiH with a share of 15 percent in total investments.

Both interlocutors emphasized the importance of organizing business meetings between BiH and foreign businessmen in order to strengthen economic ties, increase investment and monitor economic events for the inclusion of BiH economy and businessmen in new economic trends.

Ambassadors are expected to establish closer co-operation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and other economic associations with the goal of strengthening economic ties, investments and exports from BiH.
