Several US soldiers were wounded in a missile attack on the US military air base Al Asad, in western Iraq.

The news about the attack on the American base in Iraq was published by the American media citing unnamed officials of the United States of America.

US officials reported that the attack on Al Asad Air Base was a missile attack and that several US soldiers were wounded.

Although the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, it is still unknown whether the attack in question was carried out by Tehran-backed groups as an extension of growing tensions between Iran and Israel.

Al-Asad Air Base is located in Anbar province in western Iraq. It was originally known as Qadisiyah Air Base. It was the second largest US military airbase in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Anadolu writes.
