darivanje krviWith the growth of traffic, the number of traffic accidents increases as well. Thus, the number of injured people and the need for blood supply also increase.

It is the vacation period and that makes it harder to reach blood donors.

Large number of doses is necessary for surgeries, treatment of anemia, carcinoma and other conditions that require therapy with blood components.

“Institute for transfusion medicine of FBiH needs blood of all blood types. Currently they need 0+ and A+ blood type the most. Blood supply reduces daily, because it is very difficult to reach blood donors because of the holiday season. We urge all citizens who are healthy and have good will to come and donate blood. Institute invites the citizens to donate blood in order to ensure timely treatment of patients who need blood transfusion for healing and recovery,” said the Director of the Institute Jasminka Kurilić.

Citizens can donate blood in the Institute for transfusion medicine in the Čekaluša Street number 86, in Sarajevo, on every working day from 7:30 am until 7 pm, and until 3 pm on Saturdays.

Blood can also be donated at organized events. You can obtain information about the locations and time of these events at the website of the Institute.
