Significant Increase of Number of Tourists visiting BiH in July

In July 2017 tourists realized 160,462 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent the increase by 27.7% as compared to June 2017 and increase by 24.5% as compared to July 2016. Tourists realized 347,082 tourist nights which represent the increase by 42.6% as compared to June 2017 and increase by 19.7% as compared to July 2016.

Domestic tourists share of total number of overnight stays was 21.6% and foreign tourists share was 78.4%. The number of domestic tourist nights increased by 12.6% as compared to June 2017 and increased by 11.7% as compared to July 2016. Foreign tourist nights increased by 53.8% as compared to June 2017 and increased by 22.2% as compared to July 2016.

Concerning the structure of foreign tourist nights in July 2017, the most of them (47.3%) were realized by tourists from: United Arab Emirates (10.8%), Poland (8.8%), Turkey (8.1%), Saudi Arabia (6.6%), Serbia and Croatia by (4.5%), and Oman (4.0%). Tourists from other countries realized 52.7% of tourist nights. Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays in our country on the first place comes: Kuwait and France with average stay by 3.8 nights, Iran 3.6 nights, United Arab Emirates 3,2 nights, Qatar 3.1 nights, Bahrain 2.9 nights, and Ireland, Malta and Romania 2.8 nights.

Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in July 2017 amounted to 19,083, which is 10.7% increase compared to July 2016. Number of available beds was 40,689 beds, which is increase by 10,1%, compared to the same month of 2016. In July 2017, in the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 16,483, which is an increase of 10.0% compared to June 2016., and number of available beds amounted to 33,434 which is an increase of 9.8%, compared to the same month of the previous year.

Net occupancy rate of permanent beds was 30.1%. According to the type of accommodation facility the highest number of nights was recorded in Hotels and similar accommodation with share of 90.8 %.
