Significant Increase of Tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in July

In July 2019 tourists realized 193,043 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent the increase by 7.8% as compared to June 2019 and increase by 12.2% as compared to July 2018. Tourists realized 423,119 tourist nights which represent the increase by 21.0% as compared to June 2019 and increase by 8.6% as compared to July 2018. Domestic tourists share of a total number of overnight stays was 22.1% and foreign tourists share was 77.9%.

The number of domestic tourist nights decreased by 10.2% as compared to June 2019 and increased by 1.8% as compared to July 2018. Foreign tourist nights increased by 34.2% as compared to June 2019 and increased by 10.7% as compared to July 2018.

Concerning the structure of foreign tourist nights in July 2019, the most of them (56.8%) were realized by tourists from: Saudi Arabia with (18.1%), UAE with (8.0%), Poland with(6.7%), Turkey with (5.3%), Serbia and Croatia by with (4,3%), Germany and China by with (3,4%) and Slovenia with (3.3%). Tourists from other countries realised 43,2% of tourist nights.

Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays in our country on the first place comes Kuwait with average stay by 3.7 nights, France 3.4 nights, Qatar 3.2 nights, UAE 3.1 nights, Egypt 3.0 nights and Poland by 2.9 nights.

Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in July 2019 amounted to 20.808, which is 1.9% increase compared to July 2018. The number of available beds was 44.823 beds, which is increased by 3.0%, compared to the same month of 2018.

In July 2019, in the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 18.129, which is an increase of 3.9% compared to July 2018., and number of available beds amounted to 37.226 which is an increase of 5.5%, compared to the same month of the previous year.

The net occupancy rate of permanent beds was 32.6%.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of nights was recorded in Hotels and similar accommodation with share of 91.4%.
