Police officers of the State Agency for Investigation and Protection, acting according to the Order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted searches on Wednesday at four locations in the area of Sarajevo, Doboj and Bratunac in operation “Tihor”.
The activities were carried out in cooperation with the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska.
The searches were carried out due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of “Organized crime” was committed, in connection with the criminal offenses of “Illegal traffic in weapons and military equipment and dual-use products” and “Illegal traffic in narcotic drugs”, prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the search, nine hunting rifles, five pistols, about 190 bullets of various calibers and extensive documentation related to the issuance of permits for the acquisition, possession and carrying of weapons, documentation related to the acquisition and sale of weapons by legal entities, notebooks, notes, schedules were found and seized. There is a reason to suspect that the confiscated documentation was forged and used as such in the process of issuing permits for the acquisition, possession and carrying of weapons.
On the same day at 6:00 p.m., the suspect inflicted fatal injuries on himself using a firearm, after which he died in the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, SIPA announced.
According to the media, on Wednesday morning (September 23), members of the police raided the office of M.B. in the Police Station in Ilijaš. After his office was searched, he asked to go to the toilet. After that, a shot was heard. The police officers found him lying in the toilet of PS Ilijaš, bleeding.
M. B. was, according to the information of the Investigation, one of the members of the criminal organization of Majid Rawa, known as Fox, the leader of the mafia organization that is most active in Sweden.
