The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina in sitting volleyball experienced its first defeat at the World Championship in Hangzhou, after being defeated in the second round of the group stage by the current world and Paralympic champion Iran with a score of 3:1 (24:26, 25:21, 25:22, 25:21).
Despite the defeat, the BiH national team members put up a very good resistance against one of the biggest favorites to win the title.
After a brilliantly played first set and a 1:0 lead, coach Ifet Mahmutović’s team evenly matched the Iranians throughout the match, but the quality of the current world champions decided in the finals of the following sets.
In the statistical part of the match, Safet Alibašić scored 23 points, while Mirzet Duran added 14 and Ermin Jusufović seven points.
In the Iranian national team, Morteza Mehrzad was the best with 18 points, while Hossein Golestani with 16 and Meisam Alipour with 12 points made a significant contribution to the victory, Fena writes.
