Six Persons were arrested in the continuation of the ‘Transporter’

Six persons from Banjaluka, Bugojno and Sarajevo were arrested today in the continuation of the “Transporter” action aimed at suppressing drug trafficking and smuggling of excise goods, and in the searches of the locations they use, confiscated weapons, expensive vehicles, and certain business documents were found.

Persons whose initials are D.P, D.P. were arrested. and G.S. from Banja Luka, H.H. and M.Č. from Bugojno and E.H. from Sarajevo, announced the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska (MUP RS).

Based on the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a large number of searches of vehicles and facilities used by these persons were carried out in the area of Banjaluka, Laktaši, Sarajevo and Bugojno, and on that occasion several firearms, ammunition, expensive passenger vehicles, a large number of mobile phones and certain documentation related to business operations of business entities.

In the continuation of the action, under the supervision of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, police officers of the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska participated in cooperation with members of the Border Police of BiH and the Federal Police Administration.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS stated that these persons were arrested due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed criminal acts, organized crime related to criminal acts, illegal traffic in narcotic drugs and illegal traffic in weapons and military equipment, as well as dual-purpose products.

After the completion of the criminal investigation, the arrested persons will be handed over to the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

Action “Transporter” is aimed at uncovering an organized criminal group that was involved in the commission of criminal offenses in the field of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs and smuggling of excise goods, and is being implemented continuously from July 17, 2021, with the cooperation and support of Europol and under supervision BiH Prosecutor’s Office.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that a total of 38 persons have been deprived of their liberty so far, six of whom are police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, one advisor to the Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers and one member of the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH.

Also, 303.8 kilograms of marijuana, around 250,000 euros, large quantities of weapons and ammunition, several expensive vehicles, a large number of mobile phones and certain business documents were found and temporarily confiscated.

During the implementation of the operational action, a financial investigation was conducted, which was conducted by the Directorate of Criminal Police in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which temporarily blocked assets worth around 12 million BAM.
