The remains of a person believed to have been a vampire were found at the site of Stari grad Pakrac, which is apparently a very valuable archaeological site because a golden ducat from the 14th century was previously discovered.

Recently, a gold ducat from the 14th century was found on the same site, and the new discovery showed that it really is an extremely valuable archaeological site.

At a depth of about 5 meters, at a level corresponding to the period of the early 13th century, a complete, massive, perfectly preserved wooden sarcophagus was found. The real sensation came when Pakrac archaeologist Kresimir Vacek, who together with his colleague Teo Lokner leads archaeological research in the area of Pakrac, opened the sarcophagus.

In it was a headless human skeleton. In the place where it should be, they found the remains of a skull, more precisely jaws of animal origin, presumably horse heads. Vacek said that this indicated that it was vampirism.
