A total of 103 COVID patients were hospitalized, eight of whom were in intensive care, five in post-intensive and three in non-invasive mechanical ventilation, the General Hospital said.

During yesterday, three patients died of coronavirus infection. A total of 1,016 examinations and 12 surgeries were performed yesterday, and 5,142 services were provided. Three babies were born at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the statement said.

Mass immunization against coronavirus in Sarajevo Canton started today at the Olympic Hall “Juan Antonio Samaran”.

Vaccination of people over the age of 75 started at 8:00 AM, and the vaccination process will take place in two shifts. After the arrival at the entrance to the Zetra sports hall is determined, the wardens point to one of the thirty checkpoints where the vaccination will take place.

A short questionnaire will have to be filled in, after which it will be determined whether the person is ready to receive the vaccine.

After receiving the vaccine, persons will go to the end of the hall where the observation area is prepared.

There, they will a wait of 15 to 20 minutes, to see if there are any side effects, and for the medical staff to be able to react in time.

At the moment, the vaccines “AstraZeneca” (donation of the Republic of Serbia) are available at a little less than 10,000 doses, because part of it was given to the Medicines Agency to determine the correctness and “Sinovac” – about 1,800 (donation of the Republic of Turkey).

We are waiting for the COVAX mechanism, but also for the ordered dose of Sputnik V by the end of May – 200 thousand for Canton Sarajevo.
