Slovak Ambassador Visits Tesanj Fire Company on Its 120th Anniversary, Reaffirms Support for BiH’s European Path

The Ambassador of Slovakia in our country, Roman Hloben, visited the Voluntary Fire Company “Tešanj 1905”, on the occasion of celebrating its 120th anniversary. Cooperation was announced in the coming period as well, and it was emphasized that such activities contribute to BiH’s efforts to, in every sense, join the family of European countries.

DVD “Tešanj 1905” is one of the most successful companies with the longest tradition in our country. Ten years ago, the people of Slovakia donated a fire truck to the Society through the Agency for Development and Cooperation “Slovak Aid”.

DVD “Tešanj 1905” President Enes Kurdić said that Ambassador Hloben was convinced that what they donated ten years ago was in the right hands and that it served its purpose.

“I am glad that I have the opportunity to meet the employees, to have them explain to me what their challenges are, and I look forward to further cooperation,” said Ambassador Hloben.

In addition to equipping and reaching modern standards in firefighting, these activities are useful in many ways.

As SDP state representative Ermina Salkičević-Dizdarević noted, the Slovak ambassador made an unofficial visit and expressed his respect for something that is not a ‘big story’: “He pays attention to small projects, small associations, small societies, which are a very important link in every society, even in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and certainly show a better side of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Ambassador Hloben once again underlined Slovakia’s strong support for BiH on its European path.

“There is no doubt that Bosnia and Herzegovina can progress very quickly, and I believe that together this year we will succeed in opening the negotiation process,” Ambassador Hloben said.

On this occasion, the ambassador and consul of Slovakia in our country visited several women’s associations operating in the Tešanj municipality, Federalna writes.
