President of RS Milorad Dodik after today’s meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation and the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, stated that it would be good for B&H to solve the case Sejdić–Finci and to get the candidate status for membership in the European Union.
Dodik expressed his belief that at the meeting of the political leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Commissioner of EU Enlargement ŠtefanFile, on1st October in Brussels will be agreed about the implementation of the judgments of the European Court for Human Rights on the case Sejdić–Finci and coordination mechanisms.
Pointing out that in RS there is a consensus about the way of implementation of the judgment of the European Court for Human Rights on case Sejdić–Finci against B&H, Dodik said that RS “gave the possibility to federal partners that in the agreement, to affirm the specificity of Federation of B&H and to propose a solution“.
EU Special Representative in B&H Peter Sorensen pointed out that the position of the European Union is clear and the message was conveyed even to the President of RS that “a year before election, the EU wants to invite B&H to become member of the union“.
