The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released the official list of Oscar nominations, which also includes the film “Quo Vadis, Aida?” of Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic.
Nineteen years after Danis Tanovic won an Oscar for the film “No Man’s Land”, Zbanic received an official nomination in the same category for the film about the genocide in Srebrenica.
Zbanic’s film was also nominated for two BAFTA
Bosnia, July 1995. Aida is a translator for the UN in the small town of Srebrenica.
