On the eve of marking of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, the Flower of Srebrenica was set up on the Square of Children in Sarajevo. The flower of Srebrenica or the flower of “Memory” is a symbol of the fight against genocide and mass suffering of people, Radio Sarajevo reports.
The white color of the flower petals represents innocence, ie it symbolizes innocent victims of genocide, while the green color located in the center of the flower represents hope and awakening and carries the message that all citizens regardless of religion and nation throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, surrounding countries, Europe will awaken the world and never forget the horrors of the genocide that took place in Srebrenica on July 11, 1995.
