Peter Stano, the chief spokesman for the European External Action Service, spoke on the occasion of the upcoming session of the Council of Ministers and called on the ministers to adopt the draft budget.

“The current political situation, the political crisis in BiH was discussed at the last meeting of EU foreign ministers. They are very clear in calling on political leaders and actors in BiH to do everything, not only in continuing reforms, restoring dialogue, but also in organizing elections. In this context, we call on the members of the BiH Council of Ministers, and in particular the Minister of Finance, to take advantage of the next session on Monday in order to adopt the Draft Budget for this year “, said Peter Stano.

Stano called for an accelerated decision that would ensure the financing of the Central Election Commission of BiH, and the current blockade must end immediately, he said.

“The EU is involved and we are continuing and ready to facilitate solutions in BiH primarily through our Office of the EU Special Representative Johan Sattler, High Representative Borrell fully supports the work of Ambassador Sattler in the country, on the ground and we condemn all attacks on Ambassador Sattler. Ambassador Sattler, on behalf of the EU and its members, has continuously defended and promoted EU values and principles in BiH and has worked to bring the country closer to the European Union, working with all politicians to reduce differences on various issues. He is in contact with all state officials, including civil society, so all contrary claims, criticisms and accusations against the ambassador in this context are unacceptable slander and do not help bring BiH closer to the European Union, “Stano added.
